Resisdance are a diverse group of women and non-binary people taking hold of the tech and decks, smashing the patriarchy and supporting under funded radical grassroots organisations. We came together to organise banging party nights - whilst challenging gender norms in the party and political scene.
We use our nights to fundraise for radical grassroots groups, which would struggle to get funding elsewhere. We host safer spaces workshops & DJ workshops to continue to battle misogyny and harassment on the dance floor and in the club scene. We are also DJs that are committed to representing women, non-binary and POC on line-ups at club nights and festival venues. We prioritise the voices of women of colour, working class women and trans women both in our collective and when planning our events.
Our DJs have played the Tate Lates, Secret Garden Party, Pxssy Palace, Shambala, Brainchild to name a few. We are into a range of different music, always playing infectious up-beat vibes. From the newest house and techno to some old school UK garage, RnB and hip hop, to soca, bashment and dancehall.
Resisdance is not a DJ collective but an Events collective. We do not want to get pigeonholed into a DJ collective as we are a diverse group of women & NB people working together to create politically inclined events, & some of us are DJs.
